In short, yes. Colombia is now buzzing with international travelers exploring its natural beauty and warm-hearted humans. Like everywhere, there are dangerous spots. However, Minca and the Caribbean Coast are the safest, sweetest places for tourists to explore.
What are the requirements to join the Wyld Man’s retreat?
A commitment to continually seek the best version of yourself is the main requirement to join. This implies a sense of humility, self-belief, and a beginner’s mind mentality in approaching each situation in life. Of course, a paid deposit is the other requirement.
How do I know my values align with those of the Wyld Man’s Retreat and brotherhood?
Seeking the virtuous way in word, thought and action is at the foundation of our values. We practice universal kindness towards all beings. We wish freedom and vitality for all beings. Why aren’t women allowed?
With men only spaces, a container for exploring our true nature as men is able to give forth to our most authentic masculine self-expressions. Women alter men’s behavior, at the very least on a sub-conscious level. Historically, most cultures have periods of separation between man and women, so that each is better to serve the other whence they are united again.
Will I have internet access while at Finca La Frecuencia?
Yes, there is Starlink in the main cafe. Individual rooms do not have internet access.
What is the weather like in December?
Early December is gorgeous in Minca. Rain season has just stopped. The ground is full of moisture and the greenery shines like emerald crystals under the blue sky’s sun. Nights are a bit cool and daytime is comfortably warm.
Will I be eaten alive by insects and jungle snakes?
Mosquitoes and sand flies (tiny black guys) are here and do like to eat human blood. However, they are quite mild here compared to other jungle locations due to the cooler weather, hummingbirds and bats. Best defense is to wear long pants and put on insect repellent (we find that lemongrass, citronella and lemon eucalyptus work great)
